The legendary Audio+Design Compex 2
I'm selling my Audio+Design mono Compex 2 Compressor, Limiter and Expander. This is great for vocals and especially drums. It is said that the stereo version of this unit is the one that was used on John Bonham drums on Led Zeppelin's 'When The Levee Breaks'. If you can find another one of these, they can be chained and used as a stereo unit, using the inbuilt master/slave function.
If you know your vintage gear you'll be well aware of this legendary piece of kit. It's in good condition and in full working order (I've used it recently to finish a mix). It has a few scratches here and there, but expected for a 40+ year old unit. I have three of these, but only need two. Hence the sale.
A little bit about the company:
Audio & Design (Recording) started in the mid 1960s and became a leading British manufacturer of audio signal-processing equipment for the music and broadcast industries, acquiring quite a reputation on both sides of the Atlantic for their high-quality dynamics processors, EQs and other outboard processors, which used mostly discrete transistor-based circuitry. Also, ADR were amongst the early pioneers in the digital-audio revolution in the 1980s.
I'll only ship to the UK, and it'll be Royal Mail Special Delivery to cover loss or damage. If you'd prefer a cheaper rate, that's fine, but any loss or damage will be at buyer's risk.
