The late Allan Holdsworth came seemingly out of nowhere and put the developing jazz-fusion scene on its ear from the early 1970's. Many guitarists regard him as an influence.

During the mid-1980's, Allan Holdsworth partnered with Ibanez to create a pair of signature guitars, the AH-10 and AH-20. These guitars featured one or two humbuckers, offset Roadstar-styled basswood bodies, and a maple neck with ebony fingerboard and large frets. The fingerboard has a mother of pearl plate at the 2nd last fret, with Allan Holdsworth's signature engraved. Pickups are Ibanez AH Special models, and the bridge is a PowerRocker Special unit.

The AH-10 was built from 1985 to 1987, and the AH-20 only during 1986. These guitars were built at the Terada plant, and quality is very high. This example dates to May 1986 and bears a white finish, which has yellowed noticeably.

This Ibanez Allan Holdsworth AH-20 is in overall good condition, with light to moderate fretwear that doesn't get in the way of it playing cleanly and smoothly. The body and finish have taken a few small dings and dents over the last 30 years, but is in good shape. The original case is included.

Serial Number:  E860121, built during May 1986 at the Terada Plant in Japan
