The PCBE12MH features a parlour body with an all okoume construction. The short-scale neck joins the body at the 12th fret, making this acoustic bass feel very compact and comfortable for players who prefer a smaller instrument. The electronics consist of an Ibanez under-saddle pickup connected to an AEQ-2T preamp with on-board tuner powered by a 9V battery and a 1/4" stereo end-pin output jack.

The AEQ-2T preamp is specifically-designed to adjust the bass and treble frequencies and allows operation of the built-in tuner without the instrument being plugged in.
Okoume
The okoume generates a woody, warm tone when the bass is played softly and provides punchy high-mids with a clear projection when played louder.
