Selling a very rare Drouyn Bandstand (20, 16,13) kit; see not-so-modern-drummer's write up (tag: drouyn) for more info about these iconic Australian drums and YouTube video of a very similar Drouyn kit.
The shells are all 4 ply Rose Alder (a native Australian hardwood), very similar appearance to round badge era Gretsch with no rerings.
I purchased secondhand in London UK in 1972, since then it has been through various iterations, with some non-original parts. So it would be classified as players grade.
The kit was restored in 2006, and wrapped in blonde maple which looks great. It has all the original lugs though most of the screws/washers fixing them to the shells are period correct replacements. The shells have had silver sealer applied to the interiors. At one point faux gretsch lugs were fitted, and though the Drouyn originals are v similar size, some of the holes are oversize. The Drouyn lugs are all well secured and have original inserts. The bearing edges have been restored to original profile; the kit tunes up easily and produces the characteristic fat Drouyn sound.
