Vintage Onyx Electric Guitar Azumi Yamaki Chushin Japan 1978-1981 MIJ Maxon El Degas El Maya Washburn Wing Series Raven
Rare Onyx labeled electric guitar with Two Tone Wood Finish.
Presumably made in Chushin Factory in Japan circa 1978-1981. Onyx was a label used in Canadian and Australian market.
This guitar and its components also share many similarities to the Washburn Wing series of guitars, particularly the Washburn Raven model.
This is a top notch quality guitar. Pickups sound incredible and are believed to be Maxon based on the numbers stamped on bottom.
Neck is straight, frets have life left, guitar is very playable and sounds and feels amazing!
There isn't too much information out there on the Onyx label. Through research I was able to find that another Chushin produced guitar by the name of Azumi has similar traits. Also El Degas and Maya seem to have a similar lineage.
The person I bought this from said it was from Montreal, Canada and I have been in touch with another Onyx owner that has the same guitar and he also lives in Montreal.
Guitar weighs approximately 7.5 lbs.
