This is a very nice set of vintage 39mm Fustero classical tuners. The Fustero brothers started making tuners in the 1940’s and continued until about 10 years ago. One of the brothers did the engraving, and the other was a machinist. Fustero tuners were used by most, if not all the top Spanish builders for over 50 years.
I have seen/had guitars with 35mm, 36mm, and 39mm Fusteros. Most of the 36mm’s I have seen were on 1950’s-mid 60’s Spanish guitars. By the early 70’s, most of the Spanish builders settled on using 35mm spacing. The German builders were more inclined to use use 36mm spacing, and the Japanese builders; i.e. Nakade, Kohno, Sakurai, used 39mm as their standard. But like anything else, there are always exceptions. These exceptions would often be based what on was on hand, or available at the time. This set is in very good condition+ with years of service left. US sales only.
