Gibson Custom Shop 1960 VOS Historic Limited Japan Run Les Paul Special Single Cut Cardinal Red 2017

Here is a very something you won’t see again in a hurry. It’s one of a limited run of 10 (just 10 worldwide) Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1960 Reissue Les Paul Special Single Cutaway in Gloss Cardinal red, that’s right Cardinal Red! This limited run were built by Gibson USA for the Japanese market and never made it to retail outside of Japan (as far as we are aware). It has a matching Cardinal red headstock and all gold hardware. Solid mahogany body with Indian rosewood fingerboard with hot hide-glue fit. Great sounding Gibson Custom Shop soap bar P-90’s and a long neck tenon of course. It has a very comfortable thick fat chunky 50’s C profile mahogany bound neck, hide glue, wraparound bridge, celluloid dot inlays, CTS volume & tome pots, and vintage correct truss rod design and serial stamp. No visible wear to the frets or guitar at all. Any little specs you can see are just dust.  Neck is dead straight and truss rod fine.  Nice and light too as a Special should be, it weighs in at 3.4kg and is beautifully balanced between the thicker mahogany neck and mahogany body.  Complete with original Gibson historic Lifton style purple velvet crush lined hard shell case (w/ key) in perfect condition and all documents/case candy including serial booklet etc. In superb condition throughout. We cannot find any blemishes. A very rare Custom Shop historic reissue 1960 Special. These will probably never be made again in this finish. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story….
