The Gretsch Black Penguin is stunning. Combining some features of the Black Falcon and the Duo Jet, the Black Penguin is so gorgeous, even your wife will like it! The semi-hollow mahogany body is resonant and chunky sounding with an arched laminated maple top to add some snap and attack for a perfect blend of tone woods. The Ebony fingerboard is smooth and fast inlaid with Hump Block patterns with a feather motif for classic looks and snappy response. Both the body and the neck are bound with gold sparkle binding that brings out the luster of the gold hardware on black for a stunning effect. The Gretsch Black Penguin also features a Gretsch "G" Cadillac Tailpiece and a vintage style Synchro Sonic bridge with ebony base. The DynaSonic single coil pickups provide plenty of snap and twang for country or early rock tones. The entire gorgeous package is set off by the inlaid Winged Logo headstock for a truly stunning instrument.
