This guitar is in great condition. It has a lovely balanced sound, along the lines of a Lowden.
It has a spruce top, laminate rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, and birdseye maple head. It has a new piezo pick-up under the bridge, with volume slider and bass/treble adjustment knobs.
The finish is in great condition, with only a couple minor nicks and hairline scratches. There is a slight crack in the finish at the base of the 1/4" output jack (this was there when I bought it).
A while back I had the bridge re-glued by a master luthier because one of the thin pointed ends of the bridge was lifting slightly. He did a great job. I also replaced the plastic saddle with one made of bone and installed a new under-bridge piezo pickup. Sounds great amplified!
I purchased the guitar used in 1990 in Berkeley, CA. Other than the inscription on the headstock, it had no identifying markings. But based on my research and a consultation with a European luthier familiar with Lowden and Trameleuc guitars, it appears to be a less expensive copy of the Trameleuc PPI-15 made by SAGA.
Price includes a jumbo SKB hard case ($150 value), in excellent condition.
