About This Listing

Here’s one for the collectors of vintage effects pedals and players. This is a  fantastic Wah Wah pedal, manufactured in the UK during the early 1970’s for the legendary "TOP GEAR MUSIC STORE” located in Denmark Street, London. (often known as Tin Pan Alley)

Top Gear was basically the British equivalent of Manny’s Music Store in New York.

Top Gear was the first guitar shop on Denmark Street and became ‘the’ hub for guitarists during the golden age of British rock. A great many players and instruments passed through its doors and went on to make rock history.

This store played an important role in the British guitar community and helped legendary players along the way such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, the Rolling Stones, to name a few.

The pedal sounds great, it’s not like the standard Dunlop wah wah but instead has a unique vintage wah sound. Probably more like a Colorsound with its wide sweep and has tons of expressive musical qualities. Like all Top Gear pedals it’s built like a tank, is overbuilt and well-engineered.

Please have a look at the photos and remember to ask all questions. It'll be shipped without a battery.
