About This Listing

For sale here’s an early production Newburgh Steinberger GM4 form 1989, serial N6488. You can recognize it from the absence of neckplate, which was introduced later on during the GM production.

The guitar is in very good shape and plays fine, here are the details:

- NECK: straight and clean with very slick fretboard. Frets have just been dressed and polished for smoother performance. Neck backpaint is also good and shows no damage. One of the 5 neck bolts has a worn hexagon and it’s not easy to turn.
- BODY: a nice black color with no major marks except for a small one on the right of the bridge, but barely noticeable. Only light scratches due to its age, mainly visible under direct lights.
- ELECTRONICS: pickups have been upgraded with two Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis for neck and middle position, while the bridge pickup is a Tom Anderson HN-3+. The electronic is active (powered by a 9V battery) and it enables you to choose between three modes: passive - active - boost. You can control these via the black mini-switch between the two knobs.
- BRIDGE: the unit has been upgraded with an handmade milled version of the original Steinberger fixed bridge, made from stainless steel and not from the cheaper cast material found on the JCustom replica ones. Roller saddles are also milled from stainless steel. This gives the guitar a huge boost in sustain and overall tone, if we compare it to its tremolo countepart.

Note: the bridge routing has not been altered or modified, so that if you want to put in an S/T-Trem it will perfectly fit. The fixed bridge is a drop in replacement with no shims or anything.

The guitar ships with its original Steinberger logo gigbag, fabric is in good shape but the zipper needs some fixing.

WORLDWIDE SHIPPING at a flat rate of EUR 75,00.
