Beautiful hand made 1935 Martin D-18 replica with premium mahogany back/sides and high altitude alpine spruce top built by the premier luthiers Willi Henkes and Rudolph Blazer in Tubingen, Germany.

The guitar was built in 2011, so the top is opened up nicely. Today this build would cost $9,500 and the current wait time is three years. Here’s your opportunity to purchase one now in excellent condition for less and without waiting.

-Forward shifted X-Brace with scalloped top braces.
-Fixed carbon fiber neck reinforcement.
-Genuine mahogany neck, hand carved authentic vintage profile.
- Extremely comfortable C to modified V shaped neck - comfortable C at the 1st progressing to a subtle rounded V profile up the neck similar to a real 1935 D-18.
-0.91” at the 1st fret and 1.09” at the 9th fret.
-Pre-ban Ivory saddle and nut.
- Full hide glue construction
- Beautiful crystal clear nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
- OHSC
- Waverly oval button tuners
- Ebony fretboard with green snail dot inlays.
- Belly bridge with factory antique acoustics galaith bridge pins.
- Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay with pearl inlaid banner logo.
-1 3/4” nut and 2 5/16” string spacing

Condition:

- Played sparingly and kept in a humidity controlled smoke free room within the case.
- Slight signs of playing but no significant scratches or dents.
- Slight fret wear on first few strings at the first few frets. Never had a fret level. Frets 95%
- Slight hairline split in the back at the bottom of the back seam approx 4.5” long. Stabilized by my luthier with hideglue, he stated there are no structural concerns with the split. See last photo - it’s a bit hard to see.

Sound:

The sound is pure power with deep rounded lows and big cannon like bass. Top has opened up nicely and has a smooth and full treble response. Perfect bluegrass flatpicking guitar but excellent for strumming and finger style as well. There’s a reason why B&H are so highly regarded, there’s guitars simply sound and feel first class!
