Up for sale, a 1983 Rickenbacker 350 Liverpool electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and perfect working order. Essentially a 24 3/4" scale length version of the 325 made famous by John Lennon in the early days of the Beatles, this guitar features maple construction with a rosewood fretboard and three Hi-Gain single coil pickups. And while a Jetglo gloss lacquer finish isn't exactly a rare Rickenbacker feature, combined with chrome hardware and black plastic parts this is a visually stunning and unusual Ric model from an era of limited production. Strummed acoustically, this 350 has plenty of spank and sustain, thanks to the all maple semi-hollow construction, which translates well through the pickups. In truth, the "Hi-Gain" moniker is a bit of a misnomer, as these pickups are still a traditional single coil design that captures plenty of vintage flavored Ric tones from warm and fat to bright and chimey. The guitar weighs in at 7lbs 8oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Ric 350 Liverpool is strung with fresh 10-46 strings and dialed in for low, slinky action.

The maple neck has a particularly chunky C shape with lots of shoulder and limited taper as you travel up the very thick slab rosewood fretboard, with the profile measuring .960" deep at the 1st fret and 1.020" at the 12th. The 24 fret fretboard retains the original fretwire which has its full factory height and shows moderate uniform wear on frets 1-3, with lighter wear on the crowns beneath the plain strings extending until roughly the octave. The guitar plays cleanly with no buzzing or dead spots and consistent, low action all the way to the last fret. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the boasts the original black Rickenbacker-branded truss rod cover and the original chrome Grover Rotomatic tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with the three single coil pickups wired to a three-way pickup selector, two pairs of Volume and Tone controls, and a smaller fifth knob that acts as a blend control for the neck pickup (useful for getting just the right amount of low end girth in the middle pickup selection in particular). The factory wiring is untouched, with original tone caps and CTS pots. With this pickup configuration, the bridge pickup is singled out when the switch is down, all three pickups are engaged in the middle position, and the neck and middle are both on when the switch is up. All of the original hardware is present including the R tailpiece, two-tiered pickguard, original knobs and stock chrome bridge. The small chrome jack plate has a clean serial number which conclusively dates the instrument to August of 1983.

Cosmetically, this guitar is in truly spectacular shape for its age, with sparkling chrome hardware. The Jetglo nitro lacquer shows a few minor chips on the edges of the slab body and a few stray faint finish scratches and minor nicks in the clear coat of the gloss, which presents extremely well and would be a worthy addition to any Rickenbacker collection. The neck profile is quite clean and free of palm wear, with a couple shallow nicks and a few small finish chips on the treble side shoulder of the profile adjacent to frets 14-16. This is a rare and well-kept Rickenbacker, 35+ years old and a real gem.

The original hardshell case is included.

The guitar arrived packaged with excellence. The guitar itself is in exactly the condition described and in excellent condition. One teeny tiny communication issue quickly resolved by Mike. This seller gets an A++ in my book. Thank you Mike.
