"Silverback Gorilla"  Pickard Guitars
There's quite a lot to say about this guitar, yet I feel like I can't say enough about it.......if that makes any sense.  For the last 6 or 7 years I have been transitioning from working primarily as an acoustic guitarmaker to being a guitarmaker of all styles, and some of the electric guitars that I have constructed have felt like an improvement on a traditional platform while others have felt more like a milestone for my personal designs.  I can definitely say that this guitar feels and sounds like a "Pickard Original" and that's something that I am very proud of.  The neck shape, the neck angle, the headstock......they were all original elements, and the ultimate goal was to create a Rock/Blues guitar that has a classic feel.  So for the body, the Honduran mahogany is super old, and it's the type of mahogany that is very difficult to find these days which was the main reason for doing a 3 piece body.  The maple/mahogany combination with the added compliment of a Padauk neck just really creates a solid sustaining sound that keeps the energy in the wood.  Even when it's unplugged the guitar is very clear and loud and the tuning remains quite stable under heavy bending with the help of a carbon fiber neck re-inforcement.  Don't let the beauty of this guitar fool you, it's a mean gorilla when you beat on it!

*This guitar was completed during our Covid Quarantine here in North Carolina at my home.  While it's a brand new guitar, I am selling it as a "demo" because we have played it on some social media platforms to promote the brand.  It has never been "gigged" or played live, but we have played it.

If you are interested in purchasing, please contact us for details and options on Cases and our return policy.  Typically with our custom instruments we allow a 48 hour approval period, and shipping reimbursement if the customer returns the guitar.  We prefer to go over these terms in detail, so a phone conversation is preferred.
In addition, we can send sound clips and such as well as neck profile templates to ensure that the instrument meets a customer's specifications.
