(Hey, we know the shipping seems ridiculous. See note about ridiculous shipping estimate below. Thank you.)
This Randall Commander RB-120 is a unique beast. Finding information about it online is rare, and finding one for sale is seen rarer.
The most notable thing about Randall's Commander amp heads is that Kurt Cobain used an RG-120 in Nirvana until the end of the tour for Bleach. The RB-120 is the sibling of the RG-120, so much so that they shared the same equipment manual when made (which you can find on Randall's website). This amp makes a guitar (or a bass) sound good, especially with the distortion channel turned on. Will it make you sound like Kurt Cobain? No guarantees on that. Besides, it's also a different amp (but still remarkably similar).
Please note: The RB-120 does not have reverb or tremolo. There is also no foot switch jack in the back (although the backplate still shows the spot for one, it is plugged. See pics). There's also no effects loop. Again, see pics.
This particular RB-120 has been patiently waiting for you to use it. Only used in a handful of practices and shows since being owned by us, it has mostly been hanging out at HQ for the last 30-odd years. It has been checked during that time, including before this sale, and everything still works. Some of the pots are a little scratchy, but that's an easy fix.
TL;DR: We don't use it, so we're selling it.
A note about shipping:
This is HEAVY - 30lbs of bass power! Shipping is set to its maximum for sending it far away, but would be adjusted to the actual cost to buyer. Ask us first if you have questions!
Dimension: 28" w x 8" t x 10" d
Specs: 2 Channels
Two inputs per channel:
Master Volume w/push-pull Gain Boost Control:
Treble control on Channel 2 has a push-pull treble boost.
AC outlet on back. Charge your phone while you play!
Speaker jack/line out:
8 ohms
Pre-amp output
Changed to "excellent" because ours matches or is better than others marked similarly on Reverb. Sold as-is because we really do not have room for it anymore. Please don't make us find space for it again.
