1964 Fender Duo Sonic Vintage Guitar - Original Gold Sparkle! With Original Leather Gig Bag

For sale is this vintage 1964 Fender Duo Sonic in original Gold Sparkle finish! This particular example, serial number L06155, is in very excellent all original condition and includes the original leather Fender gig bag! With an exceptional appearance, the original Gold Sparkle finish is over a more standard Dakota Red paint. It has a custom "A" neck with a highly exotic Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. It also sports white pickup covers with white switches, which is a combination I have yet to see otherwise. Fender's sparkle finishes were commonly applied over lesser exotic colors, including sunburst. This practice typically dictated that the neck pockets and pickup routes were taped off, which would reveal the base coat. This instrument is well preserved in all original condition, with no issues and no modifications. Gold sparkle is mostly seen circa '64, alongside their Gold Sparkle Rhodes series, though sparkle Fender were made as early as the late-'50s and as late as the early '70s.
