It's not often that we come across vintage folk instruments, so you can imagine how pleased we were when we found this! This is our 1940 Martin A-Style Mandolin, serial# A-16836, with oval soundhole and its original softshell case. This instrument comes in a rare sunburst finish. Accompanying the mandolin from its one and only owner is a letter from Gruhn Guitars confirming the mandolin's authenticity and condition. The piece itself is an Adirondack spruce top with a Mahogany neck, back & sides. Brazilian Rosewood bridge, fingerboard and peghead veneer. The mandolin is bound with tortoiseshell grain with a tortoiseshell pickguard. The mandolin has never been repaired or sustained any damage.
