This listing is for a PAIR (2) of mid-1970s Raindirk Series III channel strips from Southern Studios. See photos for a few shots of them in their original habitat.
Southern Studios was a recording studio in Wood Green, London, owned by John Loder. The studio opened in 1974, and closed in 2013. The control room centred around a Raindirk Series III analogue mixing console. These channel strips are from that mixer. I have six in all, but am keeping two to rack-up, which is very easy, as all the pin-outs on the circuit boards are clearly labelled.
Raindirk Series III consoles were also used in Olympic Studios in the 70s & 80s, where HUNDREDS of classic records were recorded, among others.
As well as a lovely clean mic preamp, these channel strips also have a fantastic versatile EQ section, which is loved so much by ELO's Jeff Lyne, that he has had his Raindirk Series III channels racked up in his studio. This is what he said about them in Sound On Sound magazine:
"I have here all the EQ modules from my old 16-track Raindirk desk, because the EQ on them is really, really powerful. It’s got a tremendous sweeping ability. You can sweep through certain frequencies on an electric guitar, and it makes it sound like a slide. I used it twice on Long Wave—on “Love Is a Many Splendored Thing” and “Smile.” It sounds like you’re playing some weird instrument, but it’s actually just that. Oh, shut up! Now I’ve told ya—secret’s out. [Laughs.]"

Here's some artists that were recorded through these very channel strips at Southern Studios:

Postage is rather expensive, due to insurance. I won't post them uninsured, as otherwise it leaves both of us in a bad position if they should get lost or damaged in transit.
