About This Listing

Got these in the '80's because of Steve Lukather (I also played through a Boogie Mk IIC+). Hear them on his Hot Licks Instruction video from the era, it holds up very well. Actually his tone was better back then imo. (see YT video link)
The 85 "humbucker" and SA "single coil" are all AlNiCo bar magnet pickups. The SPC is generally meant for "rounding out" the SA's, but there are no rules (experiment). The EXG guitar expander fattens up the 85, but. again, feel free to use any on any pickup and see what happens! The RPC (Resonant Peak Control) is a treble control - use it where it helps.
They pick guard is one I need, so you'll have to get your own and some extra connecting lead wire and battery clip, and possibly other passive pots available from EMG and elsewhere depending on what yu want to try. See the drawings in the photos.
If I had pre-wired it you couldn't experiment so readily. The SA's are what David Gilmore uses also. You can get the Gilmore wiring schematic online. Kirk Hammet also uses the Lukather inspired set-up. I loved doing this kind of DIY experimentation and doing something of my own .... finding my own sound. I included a 5-way switch with cream tip, some extra EMG lead wire, and a stereo switchcraft jack wired as needed.
Have fun! Again: THE PICK GUARD IS NOT INCLUDED.
