I have two Clarinets and I use to have 7 of them, I am selling one of the two remaining and I am just keeping my favourite, a Selmer Signet Special from 1974

.For sale is an absolute standout example of a vintage 1959 Boosey & Hawkes (B&H) 8-10 Bb Clarinet (Serial Number: 166134).The 8-10 model was custom-engineered by B&H specifically for the international and North American export markets. Built with a premium African Blackwood (Grenadilla) body and robust silver-plated keywork, it features a standard 14.90mm French-style bore. Unlike the restrictive wide-bore 1010 models, this 14.90mm bore configuration allows you to use any standard modern mouthpiece effortlessly while still delivering that classic, warm B&H resonance. CRUCIAL TUNING NOTE: Because this was built as an export model, it is factory-tuned to standard modern Low Pitch (A=440Hz). It completely avoids the high-pitch trap of standard vintage British band instruments, making it 100% compatible with modern orchestras, jazz groups, and wind bands today.

Condition & Overhaul Details:

• The Mechanicals: Fully and professionally overhauled two years ago with fresh white pads and brand-new springs. It is played daily, completely airtight, and meticulously regulated. It is 100% gig-ready out of the case.
• The Wood: Immaculate African Blackwood with a deep, oily lustre. Absolutely zero cracks, splits, or repairs anywhere on the joints or tone holes.
• The Keywork: Premium silver-plated keys in outstanding condition with no plating wear-through. Features the Acton Patent Vent mechanism on the middle joint for a perfectly clear middle Bb.
• The Case: Includes the original vintage hard case with the gold-embossed "Boosey & Hawkes: London • New York" export stamp, featuring a vibrant blue velvet interior and neat historical owner provenance.
