Personal Luthier provides one-on-one, remote guitar consulting. We answer questions and provide resources for all guitar lovers. From advocating for guitarists, clarifying complex issues, and setting service schedules, to training technicians and helping luthiers with material analysis, pricing, and customer referrals, we’re here to help.
Personal Luthier also offers in-home and delivery service for fretted instrument repairs (in southern and Midcoast Maine only at this time), guitar fittings, and our Affiliate Referral Program which links verified service providers with local customers.
Personal Luther presents Learning to Speak Guitar: A Luthier's Thesaurus, the book that Bob Benedetto called, “an impressive presentation of form and function of our beloved guitar" and the only treatment on the language we use to describe our guitar experiences. Learning to Speak Guitar includes a 400-year guitar history and technical data for over 50 guitar materials never before published in one volume.
