Cap'n Mike's Music

I started singing and playing music before I was five years old, so I have been in love with music from very early on. I grew up in Dinuba, California, the San Joaquin Valley in the 1960's. San Joaquin Valley Rock N Roll was fabulous in those years and had a distinctive sound that was very special. Original "Surf, R & B and Rockabilly" was played locally on KYNO Radio. Bands like, "The Brymers, with Dick Lee, The Accents, with Dennis Highfield, Ken Carlton and Steve Biswell, The Road Runners, with Randy Hall, Michael and The Jesters, with Huk Planas, Cecil Rhodes and Ronnie Schendel, and my own Band, R B Oliver Bridge, all made big hits and left an enormous musical legacy that is still King today. I was part of that movement. Dick Clark was on American Bandstand. Dick Dale, The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, The Ventures..........ALL that California Surf Music really got in my blood. Then The English Invasion with The Beatles, Dave Clark Five, The Stones was so happening. A little later, the Psychedelic Music from San Francisco just moved my soul with bands like, Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Quicksilver, Big Brother and The Holding Company, Janis Joplin, Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Ritchie Havens, Country Joe.......All that "Peace & Love" stuff really changed our consciousness of what was possible. When I heard, for the first time, "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and The Shondells, I had to pull my car over and just listen to that incredible song. Something beautiful was happening. Since those early years, I have been involved in music somewhere somehow, In fact, I just wrote a new "Surf" song in March. I have a Super selection of incredible guitars, some amazing amps and several Drum Kits including a Rogers MWP 60's Drum Kit that is for sale.
