Peavey is one of the few American manufacturers still run by its original founder. Hartley Peavey started building guitars and amp systems in Mississippi in 1965, and production has continued there and overseas since.

The Wolfgang Series was designed in collaboration with Edward Van Halen after his signature Peavey achieved success. This signature endorsement lasted from 1996 - 2004. Models in this series came with a number of variations including stop tailpiece/Floyd Rose tremolo, flame/qulit top, and flat/arch top.

Flamed and qulited tops usually garner higher values, as do Floyd Rose-equipped models. The standard, higher-end model had an arched top, while the lower-end Special has a flat top.

Body Style: Double cutaway off-set solid body

Wood Composition: Bound Basswood body, graphite-reinforced Maple neck and fingerboard

Design Elements: Arched top, dual humbuckers, 25.5" scale, single volume knob, Floyd Rose locking tremolo with drop D knob
