Fender John Mayer Stratocaster 2013 Sunburst
Reverb Estimated Used Price Range
- $1,200 — $1,600
Since the Eric Clapton Stratocaster debuted in 1987, Fender's Signature Series has grown to include a wide ranger of artists with models made both in Mexico and the US.
The John Mayer Stratocaster is an Alder body with a slightly larger C-shaped neck profile, African Rosewood fingerboard, and buffed headstock. It uses three Big Dipper single coil pickups, developed specifically to mimic the "accidentally underwound" pickups in John's main Strat, which end up scooping the mid-range frequencies on the EQ. It does not come from the factory with a backplate.
A limited run of Charcoal Frost Metallic and Cypress Mica were produced in this model, in addition to the ongoing Sunburst and Olympic White finishes.
