The Roland JX-8P is a 6-voiced, 61key analog polyphonic synthesizer released in 1984. The JX-8P was released during the popularity and rise of Digital FM synthesis popularized by the Yamaha DX-7 yet it remained a fully analog synthesizer but with added parameters for more complex sounds. Like its little brother the JX-3P and its successor the JX-10, it had full MIDI implementation, multiple play modes including poly and unison, patch memory, and could be further programmed by an external programmer, the PG-800. The JX-8P was one of the last analog synthesizers Roland manufactured in the 1980's.
