Founded in 1976 and owned/operated by Ernie Ball since 1984, Music Man is the second-to-last company founded by Leo Fender. This venture was undertaken alongside the founders of '70s audio company Tri-Sonix, who brought on Fender as a silent partner and chief designer.

Introduced in 2003 and billed as "everything a modern bass should be," the Bongo features a double-cut body for higher playing, an ergonomic contoured design, and an 18v active preamp.

This is the five-string model with a standard single-humbucker configuration.
