The original Music Man company was founded in 1974 by a partnership between the founders of Tri-Sonix and Leo Fender. In 1984, the company was purchased by Ernie Ball and has been known since as Ernie Ball Music Man.
Introduced in 1987, the StingRay 5 bass was the first original model conceived and produced by Music Man after the company's acquisition by Ernie Ball. This five-string model bears the same features as the four-string such as the onboard three-band EQ and compensated nut with a more contoured body to account for the additional weight and size.
This is the single humbucker model with a Vintage Sunburst finish and neck through design.
