Introduced in 1942 as a replacement for the J-35, the J-45 has since become one of Gibson's most popular acoustic flattops. Earning a reputation as a "workhorse" guitar, the J-45 was embraced for its no-frills attitude and big, strong tone. Several variations of the J-45 have been release over the years including its natural-finish counterpart, the J-50. The John Hiatt Signature J-45 features a V-neck profile and onboard Fishman Ellipse preamp system, as well as high-end cosmetic details such as a tiger-stripe pickguard. Note: pictured guitar includes prototype John Hiatt Signature on body, this was not a standard detail.
