The Rickenbacker 3000 bass was produced starting in 1975. Unlike most Rickenbackers, the 3000 used a Fender-like bolt-on neck joint as opposed to neck-thru construction. The 3000 also has a single humbucker pickup and a shorter 30-inch scale (a 33 1/4-inch version was release as the 3001). The 3000's headstock was almost identical to that of the more popular 4000-series of basses.
