The Taylor 600 Series features figured curly Maple for the backs and sides of all its models with a Sitka Spruce top. Other appointments included unique ablaone fingerboard inlays, abalone rosette and headstock logo after 1994.
The Taylor 655 was the original 12-string string jumbo model within the series and one of Taylor's first models as a company. It was produced for twenty consecutive years and then reissued in 2001.
Specimen pictured is a 1983 model. Some appointments, such as inlay and rosette have changed over the years.
