The Grand Symphony shape (denoted by the '16' in the title) joined the Taylor lineup in 2006. Building on the extreme popularity of the Grand Auditorium, the Grand Symphony is a larger sized guitar with wider waist and increased lower bout. Taylor describes this guitar as excellent for heavy strummers, but with plenty definition and clarity to the tone. As part of the 600 Series, this guitar has Big Leaf Maple back and sides and a Sitka Spruce top.
