- $1,000 — $1,500
Given free rein to develop experimental and limited run ideas, the Fender Custom Shop team decided to depart from the traditional bolt-on neck design and produce a highly appointed set neck Stratocaster. It featured a highly figured book-matched Maple top with a set Maple neck and Ebony fingerboard, while using an LSR roller nut and locking tuners. It was available with two Texas Special single coil pickups and a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge position.
The first few years of production used Ash bodies, but after 1995 construction switched to Mahogany. Later in 1998 Ebony fingerboards were scrapped in favor of Rosewood. These were available in Antique Burst, Natural, and Brite White finishes with gold hardware and/or optional Lace Sensor pickups.
Years of Production: 1992 - 1998
