The D'Angelico namesake comes from the legendary archtop luthier John D'Angelico, who built highly sought after masterpieces of guitar design from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Recently, D'Angelico Guitars of America revived the namesake and produced premium archtops in Japan until the 2010s, when they began imported models out of Korea and producing their own in the US. The designs are based on the classic originals from John D'Angelico, with a few new hybrids.
