About this listing
Red Label: The Studio Musician's Choice! For those in the know, the Yamaha FG3 is roughly equivalent to a Martin D-28, but without the bloated price and (admittedly) the prestige. Studio musicians love this guitar cause it hits like a cannon! You can take these guitars to any headcutting session and blow the Taylors and Gretschs away with ease. Condition: Mint/UnusedBackstory: I bought this for a project that never materialized. I have too many guitars and this one just isn't getting used. So, it's time to clear out the extras. My loss is your gain! Why I love it:Solid Mahogany sides and back (if you're an acoustic guy/gal, you'll know why this is critical).Solid Sitka Spruce top.Real ebony fingerboard.Incredibly tuning stability! This is one of those tune it once and forget about it axes!Incredible bass rivaled only by a D-28. Even then, it's a close call.VOLUME: this thing will blow most any other acoustic out of the water with ease.Handles low action well. Very straight neck. I don't like my action too low. But, if that's your thing, it can take it!Every fret position is clean, no buzzing, no dead frets.Sounds very similar to a D-28."Structured" soft-shell case is the best softshell I've ever seen. Half-way between a softshell and a hardshell. The only reasons why people don't rave about this guitar:Yamaha electrics are bland, so people assume that will be true of Yamaha acoustics. They're dead wrong. It's Japanese. And acoustic people can be, um, shall we say, "nationalistic".Take this sucker to a headcutting session and drown the Martin and Taylor players, then smile down your nose at them because you paid a fraction of the price for a guitar that does the same thing their hand-me-down D-28 does!Think I'm bluffing? Don't take my word for it. Watch the linked video and hear (the legendary) Driftwood Guitars raving about this acoustic.
