No plugin can do what this does! This has output transformers, and is fully balanced with an all tube signal path.One of the finest and pristine tube mic pre amps, which can be as clean as Manley, or as colorful as you like, featuring the world famous Culture Vulture style distortion from Thermionic! and add to that, a versatile Eq, which when used in conjunction with the distortion, leads to your own unique sound and can impart glorious harmonic distortion from tubes.The tone from this box is stellar, with tons of flexibility. It can go from clean to heavily distorted with a few small adjustments. The simple Pultec style EQ is quite musical and much more useful and versatile than the minimal controls would lead you to believe. The low boost, used in combination with the low cut section, can make low end bloom without taking up too much real estate in the mix. I really like this box on guitars, drums, and vocals, to crunching up DI'd synths, to distorting vocals, to using the line inputs to add some much needed grime to an overly clean ITB mix.
