Similar in design and shape to the iconic Rickenbacker 360 guitar, the Rickenbacker 4005 is a hollowbody electric bass that was produced starting in 1965. The 4005 was never as popular as Rickenbacker solidbody basses like the 4001, and the total output of 4005 basses reflects this. Since going out of production, however, the 4005 has attracted increased attention from collectors which has greatly increased the value of these instruments.
