Rickenbacker models with the designations 310, 320 or 325 were all short-scaled hollowbodies produced as early as 1958. The 320 was the three-pickup entry in the line. Initially built without any kind of soundhole, the 320 was given a single F-hole as an option in 1961 and then as a standard feature in 1964. In 1975, Rickenbacker's high gain pickups replaced the original toaster tops.
