Overview

The most recognizable of all Paiste cymbal lines, the 2002 series is known for its bright attack, clear projection and strong ties to rock. It is also Paiste's longest-running series, with some models in continuous production since 1971.

Dark and warm with a shimmering sustain, the 22" 2002 crash is lower-pitched due to its larger size.

Years of production: 1971-1995, 2007-present

Composition: CuSn8, "2002" Bronze (92% copper, 8% tin, traces of silver)

Notable artists: Abe Laboriel Jr, Bobby Blotzer, Steve Jordan
