He is incredibly proud to play his signature Ibanez guitars exclusively.The TQMS1 is an AZS series solid body electric guitar model introduced produced in Japan by Fujigen as part of the upscale Prestige line. Anyone who has seen Tom play will know how absolutely amazing his touch is. He is one of those players that will inspire you every time you see footage of him playing. This is his second Ibanez signature and it's very different to his first one. It's a great alternative with beautiful modern aesthetics. Another winner from a hugely deserving player.The TQMS1 features a maple top on an alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple oval C shaped neck with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, mother of pearl dot position markers and luminescent side dots. Components include Seymour Duncan pickups with a Magic Touch mini-humbucker at the bridge and a Alnico Pro II Custom single-coil mounted in a traditional steel plate at the neck, a non-recessed T1802 two-point synchronised tremolo bridge with titanium saddles made by Gotoh, an oil-impregnated bone nut, an angled output jack and Gotoh locking tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.The TQMS1 employs a dyna-MIX5 switching system with an 'Alter switch' toggle which allows the user to access five distinct tones. The Alter switch allows the player to access two modes with the single coils connected in series creating a tone similar to a second humbucker.Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neckThe S-TECH special roasted treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The direct contact between bridge plate and the guitar body provides better resonance and helps facilitate subtle nuances in playing dynamics.Steel pickup plateThis steel pickup plate is designed exclusively for AZS series. It's a critical component that helps generate that quintessential "Twangy" tone, for which this style guitar is known. This plate is present on both the tremolo and hardtail versions of the AZS, something that is not typical for guitars of this type.
