The Ibanez AM Artcore Expressionist 6-String Electric Guitar established yet another chapter in the Artcore story. The Expressionist difference? Jazz fans will recognize the Ibanez original Super 58, the preferred pickup of George Benson, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield on their own Signature models. A favorite among jazz players, but as funk guitarist Eric Krasno has been proving, the Super 58s perform well in a variety of situations. Warmth, balanced articulation, and excellent response are defining characteristics of the Super 58 pickups. Gibraltar Performer Bridge The Gibraltar Performer bridge provides rich sustain and tuning stability. The low-positioned saddles promise comfortable playability. 3pc Nyatoh/Maple Neck The 3pc Nyatoh/Maple Neck provides a rich mid-low end and great resonance. Macassar Ebony Fretboard Macassar Ebony produces tight lows and mid-range along with a strong attack in the highs and quick response with rich sustain. Quik Change III Tailpiece The Quik Change III tailpiece enables faster and easier string changing. Super 58 Pickups Super 58 pickups feature moderate output and vintage tone. Switching System When the pickup selector switch is in the neck position, the neck pickup is active. When the switch is in the center position, both the neck and bridge pickups are selected. When the switch is in the bridge position, the bridge pickup is selected. Controls With the guitar held in the playing position, there are two knobs located along the lower edge of the body. The knob closest to the neck is the bridge volume knob, and the knob closest to the end of the body is the bridge tone. Above these, there are two more knobs closer to the bridge. The knob closest to the end of the body is the neck tone knob, and the knob closest to the neck is the neck volume knob. There is also a three-way pickup selector switch near the neck volume knob.
