About this listing
Ibanez Archtop 2455 hollowbody16" guitar 1977(?) in amazing condition. Beautifully crafted Ibanez knock-off of Gibson with features from L4CES and ES-175 featuring multi-binding on body, neck and peghead all tight and not cracked, laminated soundboard to reduce feedback, spruce front, maple back, sides. The tailpiece is an L4C twin. Appears to be rosewood fretboard on maple neck with MOP full block fret markers. Two humbuckers (Super 70s, I'm told), tuners, all in gold finish showing age and light tarnishing. This is a fantastic version of the 175 with similar sound and feel for substantially less cost and with more trim. So good Ibanez was forced by Gibson to stop making these so-perfect imitations. This instrument has been played, but not abused. Frets are not noticeably worn. Few small dents and dings appropriate to a nearly 50 year-old instrument. A handful of small dings shown in separate photos of front, but not through the finish but for one. There is light cracking in the finish at the out jack, there is an extra hole for a strap button that also has cracking in the finish. Non-original but quality solid, fitted HSC. Great guitar. Reasonable offers considered.
