Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet Black 1958

The Duo-Jet stands as one of Gretsch's most iconic guitars and certainly its most iconic solidbody. This chambered solidbody is most closely associated with George Harrison who played one in the early Beatles era and throughout his whole career. While not as collectable as their Gibson or Fender counterparts, vintage Duo-Jets are amongst the most prized Gretsch solidbody guitars.

Years of Production:
 1953 - 1971

Unique to this Year: By 1958, Gretsch switch to Filter'Tron pickups for the duo-jet as well as a roller bridge. 

Body Style: Single cutaway chambered solidbody  

Wood Composition: Chambered Mahogany body, Mahogany neck, Rosewood fingerboard

Design Elements: Dual Filter'Tron pickups, master tone and individual volume controls, G tailpiece, gray plastic pickguard, 24 1/2-inch scale, Roller bridge

Finish Specifications:  The Duo-Jet came standard in black in 1958. Cadillac Green was offered by special order.
