About this listing
I am offering a Gibson Memphis ES-335 Pelham Blue from 2017, a still crafted in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), limited edition semi-hollow guitar with top, back and sides made of maple/poplar/maple laminate, solid maple center block (with a total weight of 3.6 kg!), set-in mahogany neck with rounded “C” neck profile and 42.9mm nut width, bound rosewood fingerboard with fat pearl block inlays, two sonically versatile Gibson Burstbucker (1 & 2) Alnico II humbucker pickups and high-quality Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece in a beautiful Pelham Blue high-gloss nitro finish with white binding and shiny nickel hardware in mint collector's condition, including brown Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer's papers, and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.Since its introduction in 1958, the Gibson ES-335 has been a fixture in rock music history with its characteristic warm sound. This limited edition version of the ES-335 in Pelham Blue is based on the 1950s models, but comes with some premium modern details. The guitar comes from Gibson's now closed US Memphis factory and features a rare Pelham Blue high-gloss nitro finish – a special color introduced by Gibson in the 1960s, reminiscent of the color of Cadillacs from that era and immediately evoking the Dave Grohl vibe. Together with the pearl block inlays embedded in the dark rosewood fingerboard, the guitar has a very individual look that harmonizes perfectly with the white bindings and silver nickel hardware. The three-ply maple/poplar body with a solid maple center block weighs just 3.6kg, giving the guitar excellent natural resonance. On the amp, two Gibson Burstbucker humbuckers with Alnico II magnets deliver the characteristic warm, mid-range semi-acoustic tone that is ideal for classic jazz and blues sounds as well as heavy rock and groovy funk riffs. This guitar is an absolute all-rounder: from the screaming, carrying tone of Eric Clapton's “Woman Tone” to Dave Grohl's driving riffs and Cris Cornell's experimental soundscapes, the ES-335 plays everything with great reliability.A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery. The playability is very comfortable thanks to the medium-width rounded “C” neck profile, the 42.9 mm nut width and the 628 mm scale length.Technical specifications:Origin: Memphis, TN, USAYear of manufacture: 2017Construction: Semi-acoustic with solid maple center blockTop: Maple/poplar/maple with two F-holes, laminatedBack/sides: Maple/poplar/maple, laminatedNeck: Mahogany, set-inNeck profile: Rounded “C”Fingerboard: Rosewood with pearl block inlays, boundFingerboard radius: 12"Frets: 22Nut width: 42.9mmPickups: 1x Gibson Burstbucker 1 Alnico II humbucker (neck), 1x Gibson Burstbucker 2 Alnico II humbucker (bridge)Electronics: 3-way switch, 2x volume & 2x tone controlsTuners: Grover Milk Bottle RotomaticBridge: Gibson ABR-1 with titanium saddlesString retainer: Locking stopbarHardware: NickelBindings: White, 1-plyPickguard: Black, 5-plyFinish: Pelham Blue high gloss, nitrocelluloseScale length: 628mmWeight: 3.6kgSerial no.: 10517739Includes brown Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer's papers (including C.o.A.)The Gibson Memphis ES-335 Pelham Blue was a limited special edition model only manufactured in 2017 and is now extremely rare. This Gibson ES-335 is in mint condition, has hardly been played and is technically flawless.
