Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cutaway Cherry 1958

Overview

Part way through 1958, Gibson updated the Les Paul Junior. Changes included a new double cutaway body-shape with rounded horns as well as a new standard Cherry finish. Other features of the Les Paul Junior remained the same: the Rosewood fingerboard, slab mahogany body, stud-mounted bridge, and single P-90 pickup.

Years of Production: 1954 - 1963, 1986 - 1992, 2001 - 2002, 2005 - present

Unique to this Year: New body-shape and finish introduced midyear.

Design Elements:  One dog-eared P-90 pickup, tone and volume control knobs, stud-mounted bridge, unbound neck, 

Finish Specifications: Cherry became the normal finish the Les Paul Junior in 1958.
