Overview
After a few years of limited of only producing Medallion Flying Vs, Gibson resumed regular production of the Flying V for the first time since 1970. These models largely followed the second iteration of Flying V design debuted in 1966, and would remain that way until the design was overhauled in 1981 with the Flying V I, the first of several iterations of the Designer Series guitars Gibson experimented with in the '80s.
