Gibson ES-335 Dot Reissue Limited Pearl White 1984

Overview

The ES-335 was introduced in 1958 and has remained in production in various forms ever since. Starting in 1981, the model was referred to as the ES-335 Dot in reference to its use of dot inlays like the original models from the late '50s. It was later renamed the ES-335 in 1990.

The '80s ES-335 specimens were technically based on 1960 specs. The Pearl White finish was part of a limited run and is especially desirable to collectors.

*Specimens from the early '80s may command a higher value than those from the end of the decade if they have Tim Shaw pickups. He was hired by Gibson in an early attempt to recreate PAF humbuckers.
