About this listing
The last 3 photos show the discrepancies on the guitar. I do believe the first 2 can be buffed out, the last photo shows the ding on the horn. I did not have these buffed out because it would change the VOS (Vintage Original Spec) finish. The guitar has been freshly set up, to include the strings pictured, cleaned and polished frets and cleaned and oiled fretboard. Intonation is dead perfect!!Serial # SRT 0004 is a very low number. The guitar weighs 9 lbs, 1 oz.Gibson Custom Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:Celebrate Southern Rock and support musicians in needUpdated vintage appointments are more authentic than everCustomBucker pickups deliver vintage PAF toneCelebrate Southern Rock and support musicians in needGibson's Les Paul was at the forefront of the Southern Rock movement of the late '60s and early '70s. Almost every band had at least one Les Paul in the band and sometimes more. From the Allman Brothers to Charlie Daniels to Skynyrd and ZZ Top, this dual-humbucking axe was the guitar of choice. Besides being a premium-made 1959 Les Paul reissue, the Gibson Foundation will donate a portion of the proceeds from each Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS sale to benefit members of the music community through the Music Health Alliance. You're not only purchasing an amazing guitar that pays tribute to Southern Rock, you're also supporting musicians in need.Updated vintage appointments are more authentic than everThe Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS includes new appointments to give it even more authenticity and vintage vibe. The mahogany neck is now attached using hide glue, which many argue sounds better than synthetic glue. Gibson Custom Shop also re-engineered the truss rod, truss rod washer, and anchor to its original form. They also eliminated the tubing that surrounded the truss rod. New Kluson Green Key Tuners now feature proper vintage profile, color, and performance specifications. These features and others make the Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS one of the most accurate vintage reproduction guitars ever.Custom Bucker pickups deliver vintage PAF toneGibson Custom paid just as much attention to the Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS's electronics as they did to its aesthetics. Beginning with vintage CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors, every part of its internal signal path is designed to give you absolutely dead-on '59 Les Paul tone. Of course, it's next to impossible to find genuine '50s PAFs (even for Gibson). Instead, the Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS sports a pair of Gibson's Custom Bucker humbuckers. The Custom Bucker is one of the most historically-accurate PAF copies we've ever heard at Sweetwater. These pickups use period-correct wire and a precise number of turns to create the tone we all know and love. You'll love the tight low end, complex midrange, and sweet highs you'll get out of the Custom Bucker pickups - it's everything you expect when you pick up a Les Paul!Gibson Custom Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:A tribute to the guitar that was at the core of Southern RockThe most accurate re-creation of the original 1959 Les Paul to dateEvery detail meticulously re-created to give you the look, sound, and feel of a vintage '59 modelVintage non-weight-relieved mahogany body with hand-carved, bookmatched maple top1959 rounded neck attached with '50s-style long neck tenonFine details include vintage-style tulip tuners in a straight line, holly-head veneer headstock, and original acrylic trapezoid block inlay shapeHide-glued mahogany neck, with extended neck tenon for exceptional sustain and responseVintage CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors coupled with Custom Bucker pickups for dead-on vintage PAF tonePeriod-correct Aniline dye body and neckHardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity includedGet the look, sound, and feel of Southern Rock with the Gibson Custom Shop Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul VOS!
