Overview
FLEA Microphones is a high-end and custom microphone manufacturer based on Slovakia which specializes in replicas of vintage German and Austrian tube microphones, as well as direct replacement parts for the genuine microphones and clones from other manufacturers.
The FLEA 48 is a recreation of the U 48 and is typically supplied with an EF12 tube and FLEA-made F47/49 capsule (a replica of the Neumann K47). When first ordered from the factory, the purchaser can choose to use a genuine VF14 tube and a few different capsule options, though only the VF14 option greatly impacts pricing. As well, the FLEA 48 can come with a modern PSU or a vintage-style PSU.
