Fender's original Precision Bass was even more revolutionary than the Telecaster, reinventing the way people played, inviting more guitarists to switch over and allowing more bassists to tour. Over sixty years later, the made-in-Mexico (since 1990) Fender Standard Precision Bass offers players an amazing starter instrument or a reliable, classic workhorse. Great for modding, too!

Great sound if a little too bright...But then that's expected on a maple board...Gonna put some flat wounds on and see if they take the tone down.....

  • Great bass but has bright tone

    Verified Purchase

This bass plays so well, the tone is a little bright like the other reviews have mentioned, but I switched out the strings with Ernie Ball Power Slinky and I love the sound they're giving me now. Amazing bass for a player of any level.

Great bass and the only complaint I have is that the strings are too bright and I had to adjust the bridge a little but besides that it’s a great bass. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a new bass.

Searched for P Bass for a nice warm old school tone. Found this great deal, clean as can be, neck straight, nice and thin. They told me pots were dirty, fine. Plays wonderful, looks great also. Made in Mexico, Fender parts. Nice Red. Jim Chicago
