The US-made Highway One Stratocaster featured all of the classic elements of the Strat design with three single-coil pickups and tremolo tailpiece at fraction of the cost of most other US-made Stratocasters.

In 2005, several design changes occurred, including a bridge pickup that used the Greasebucket circuit (to make the guitar more high-gain distortion compatible), larger frets, larger '70s style headstock and a high mass bridge.
